Delaney’s

Where Is It? In the heart of the Washington Street Mall, on the corner of Jackson Street.

Why Should I Go? We can’t scientifically prove that an Irish bar and restaurant is an absolute necessity in any American town that wants to take itself seriously, but we can still make a pretty good argument for it. Delaney’s has enjoyed some rave reviews on TripAdvisor and Yelp, especially for their burgers, crab cakes and shepherd’s pie. It’s not an Irish bar if it doesn’t offer the comforting indulgence of a shepherd’s pie.

The Delaney’s experience is what you would expect from an Irish bar and grill — good comfort food and an excellent liquor and beer selection, including, of course, a well-poured pint of black gold, aka Guinness.

Just like Delaney’s Cape May sibling, the Ugly Mug, this is a spot you can enjoy with your family during the day (either indoors or taking in the sights of the mall on the outdoor patio), or indulge in some late-night partying — there is regular live entertainment throughout the year.

Insider Tip: Delaney’s offers an upstairs dining room which seats up to 80 people — it’s the perfect spot for accommodating larger parties. Good to know if you’re out for dinner with extended family and friends.
