Cricket Club

Bringing Cape May a new concept in contemporary American flair

WHERE IS IT? On Decatur Street in the building that was once the home of the Merion Inn.

WHY SHOULD I GO? Join the Kulkowitz family — the team behind The Mad Batter and Carroll Villa Hotel — in their latest culinary adventure, The Cricket Club. Between their experience and inventive ideas, they’ve brought a new vibe to the Cape May dining scene that’s fun, classy — and will make everyone feel like a local.

Step inside the freshly restored Victorian building to a dimly lit dining room complete with refreshed decor and beautiful stained-glass windows. Natural light beams into the main restaurant during the daytime, and in the summer, you can enjoy al fresco dining on the veranda.

Not feeling up for a sit-down dinner? Grab a seat at their beautiful wooden bar where lead bartender Matt Reeves’ bar program takes center stage. Reeves curates his drinks like a chef, carefully selecting each spirit while introducing new flavors to create a memorable, and tasty, final product. You’ll love the Station 51 and Moonage Daydream. And it’s all crafted to compliment The Cricket Club’s eclectic menu.

Chef Matt Morey brings local food with global flavors to the table. Prepare for your tastebuds to be dazzled. Start your evening with Curry Cauliflower Bisque, Lamb Chops and Fried Tomatoes and follow that up with entrée selections like Ribeye Steak, Grilled Swordfish and Rosemary Chicken. It’s truly low-key fine dining for all.

INSIDER TIP Enjoy some tunes while you dine! The Cricket Club keeps the place abuzz with live music throughout the week from a variety of local artists.
