Louisa's Café

Where Is It? Just off the mall, on beautiful Jackson Street.

Why Should I Go? Long before the farm-to-table trend took hold, Louisa’s espoused this philosophy, serving food to match. The iconic eatery opened in 1980 and has been dishing out fresh, delicious food in their historic little building in the 40-plus years since.

The menu is all regional fare — fish caught from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay, plus vegetables, fruits, herbs (and beautiful fresh flowers) from West Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm and other New Jersey farms.

The kitchen philosophy is to cook simple, expertly seasoned dishes that are lovingly prepared and made from fresh, first-rate ingredients. The menu changes often, but the one constant you’ll find here is their dedication to a great dining experience.

Insider Tip: Because Louisa’s is small AND very popular, reservations are highly recommended — they’re accepted up to a month in advance.
