Shamone

Where Is It? On the same beachfront block as the original George’s Place and Younger Brother (YB).

Why Should I Go? Shamone is known for adding an unexpected element to every dining experience, and their debut season on the beachfront in 2022 certainly didn’t disappoint! Owner George Brannon and Executive Chef Nick Price introduced the island’s first unlimited brunch menu (don’t worry, it’s available again this year!) and took their 15-course tapas-style dinners to the next level in their upgraded digs.

After spending the winter tinkering with recipes and perfecting their plating, the team is back with a slew of flavorful new dishes for you to discover. The best part? Whether dining during the day or for dinner, Shamone offers you the opportunity to try a little bit of everything — ensuring that you never suffer from order envy again!

Allergies are accommodated — just let them know when you make your reservation. Bring your sense of adventure along with your appetite, oh, and your favorite drink — this intimate joint is BYOB. Seating options change seasonally. Be sure to check their website for current hours and availability or to make a reservation — you’ll need one!

Insider Tip: The gang from Kara Restaurant Group (also behind all five George’s Place locations, Younger Brother, Vintage, Venturini Events, and Michael Kara Catering) is still proud to say that despite being told by Joe Bastianich on the show Restaurant Startup that “Shamone might be the worst name I’ve ever heard for any restaurant, ever,” this Cape May gem has outlasted the television series.
