Whale Tale Brewing Company
A new must-visit to add to the growing Cape May County craft brewing scene... cheers!
WHERE IS IT? Around a 15-minute drive from downtown Cape May, in the shopping complex across from Home Depot in Cape May Court House.
WHY SHOULD I GO? The most important reason is an obvious one: the beer is excellent! With an impressively large and diverse tap list, this spot offers something for every craft beer fan, whether you’re a hophead obsessed with IPAs, stuck on stouts or gravitate to pilsners, sours and wheats.
The Whale Tale lineup also includes a range of lagers, a smooth porter, seltzers and hard teas — so it’s easy to find a new favorite with each visit.
They serve pints, flights, plus their distinctive Champagne Island flights, which consist of 12 different beers!
The brewery’s space is wide open and thoughtfully designed, with an industrial aesthetic that complements its laidback vibe. The main tasting room features two inviting lounge areas with couches and comfy chairs, plus beer barrel tables and a massive stone bar as the centerpiece. There’s a designated area for live music, keeping the energy high on performance nights.
But it’s not just about the beer. The Padussis family offer an experience for everyone to enjoy (even your pets) — there are table games and a mini museum for added interest. There’s also Whale Tale merchandise available.
INSIDER TIP Menu’s Food Truck is just steps from the brewery and open daily. Enjoy smashburgers, Taco Tuesdays, “The Best” Conch Fritters and specials. There is also a kid’s menu and menu items are made fresh daily. Patrons may also bring their own food.
