Boiler Room

Don’t miss a wood-burning, brick oven, artisanal pizza and craft beers within Cape May’s iconic subterranean night club

WHERE IS IT? The basement of Congress Hall, America’s oldest seaside hotel.

WHY SHOULD I GO? The Boiler Room’s newly renovated kitchen is now fully open, bringing even more energy — and more flavor to the experience. With expanded culinary capabilities comes an expanded menu, featuring new small plates, shareable bites, and hearty dishes that go well beyond the beloved pizza lineup. It’s the Boiler Room you love, now with even more to enjoy.

The backdrop is 200-year-old brick walls and brushed steel tables and bar — and yet, thanks to some seriously moody lighting, the Boiler Room feels warm and cozy. That mood is enhanced by a wood-fired brick oven that produces fresh pizza with ever-changing flavors. The pizza is carefully handmade with a unique 48-hour, 00 flour dough and uses ingredients seasonally sourced from just down the road at Beach Plum Farm. They also offer craft beer on tap, making this one of the town’s favorite destinations for casual dining.

End your meal with something sweet from the dessert menu, though that shouldn’t end your evening. More than just an enjoyable dining experience, the Boiler Room sounds as good as it tastes. Throughout the season you’ll find more than enough reasons to dance the night away, with top-shelf entertainers providing live blues, swing and vintage rock. There’s a reason why this has become one of the liveliest dance floors in America’s Original Seaside Resort.

INSIDER TIP Twelve flat-screens ensure that sports fans don’t miss the action.
